17 April 2015, 8 – 10 pm: On Pixels and Cathedrals – Artists’ books by Laurence Aëgerter and Anouk Kruithof

An integral part in the practice of both artists Anouk Kruithof and Laurence Aëgerter involves the production of artists’ books and publications, which can be pieces in themselves and contributions to larger projects within exhibitions and the public space.

For this occasion the artists provide an introduction to their practices by presenting and discussing several publishing projects with the audience.

Special guest Erik van Boxtel, librarian of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, brings books from the museum collection that he and PrintRoom selected to set in dialogue with Kruithof’s and Aëgerter’s works. Following the event books by both artists will be joining the museum collection as new acquisitions.
Anouk Kruithof is a New York based artist. Conceptual and project based, her work uses photography as a vehicle for infinite possibilities. She is a frenetic artist book maker.
Laurence Aëgerter is a multi-disciplinary artist who lives and works in Amsterdam and Marseille. In an on-going process which oscillates between projects in public space, photography and artist’s books, Aëgerter’s work addresses the permanent transformation that lies in the essence of things.
